Engagement Session at Victoria Beach in Laguna Beach
Ileana and Jeremy had their engagement photo session at Victoria Beach in Laguna. It’s one of the most popular spots amongst photographers for photo shoots. I’ve shot here quite a few times already, and every time I shoot at the same location, I try to approach it differently than the last time. I mostly shot in natural light, and I think I used a speedlight for one picture for a back light effect. They brought balloons with them, and I immediately thought of a cool silhouette shot that I could do with them. The sun was in perfect position just above the horizon and I posed them just the way I wanted it. It came out better than I anticipated.
Equipment wise, I like to go light for engagement sessions. I brought two lenses and one flash. I didn’t bring a reflector with me since I had no one to hold it, but it didn’t matter. I loved how the pictures came out, and I was glad to hear that Ileana and Jeremy loved the pictures too.
