Engagement Session at the LA Union Train Station and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles
Ana and Juan had their engagement session at two locations in Los Angeles – The LA Union Train Station and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. I always encourage couples to bring alternate clothing for different spots, and it was great to get different looks for this shoot. When Ana and Juan first arrived at the first location, they wanted to get some “liquid courage” before we started the shoot at the train station. Probably 95% of the couples I work with during an engagement session are nervous when we first start shooting. It’s not everyday you have your photo taken professionally, and it can be a little nerve wracking, especially when it’s in a public place. So, I was more than happy to have a drink with them to break the ice and they immediately felt comfortable after we hung out a bit.
The LA Union train station requires a permit to photograph there, in case you want to shoot there, but the Walt Disney Concert Hall does not. I did not have an assistant with my for this shoot, which is normally how I do it. It was all done in natural light and I switched between two lenses, the Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art and the Sigma 85mm f1.4.
