Beautiful Wedding at the Tivoli Terrace in Laguna Beach
Jen and Jason got married at the beautiful Tivoli Terrace in Laguna Beach. I’ve shot there a couple times before, and it’s one of my favorite venues for small weddings. Jen got ready at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Doheny Beach in Dana Point. In our original plans, Jen wanted to have her first look with Jason at the hotel as well as bridal pictures. She called me a few days before the wedding with bad news however. She told me that the hotel recently underwent construction and the spots she wanted to take pictures at were unavailable. Needless to say she was upset. I told her it was okay and that I would scout the area nearby for us to do pictures. Plus, I told her it would be awesome to document the construction and include it in their pictures. She loved idea, and one of her bridesmaids bought hard hats for them to wear.
So we did there first look at a nearby beach, and went back to the hotel to take some pictures at the construction site. I got permission from the manager to shoot underneath the scaffolding and everything went smoothly. I had a second shooter and an assistant with me that day. I love having an assistant with me to help coordinate things, and my second shooter did a great job getting alternate angles. This day had the potential of ending up in disaster due to the construction, but it went perfectly for them. Oh, I should also mention that Tivoli Terrace was also undergoing renovation, but the construction wasn’t as apparent as the hotel.
