My Photography Equipment

It's been said that the best camera is the one you have on you. You can create beautiful images and art with whatever tools you have at your disposal, and I firmly believe this. With that being said, as a professional wedding photographer, I also believe that in order to have certain visions come to life, one must have the proper tools. Wedding photography encompasses so many different genres, such as fashion, lifestyle, family, automobile, architecture, etc. and in order to successfully capture the entire day, one must be prepared with the right gear. Below is a list of the equipment that I use during any given wedding, and this is also the same gear that I use for my conceptual work.

 My Camera Bodies

I use two camera bodies that are strapped to me most of the day, and I have one in my bag as a backup. I use Canon and they produce some of the best cameras for wedding photography.

  • Canon 5D Mark III
  • Canon 6D

 My Lenses

I use only the best lenses when I'm shooting weddings, and in my opinion, the lenses are much more important than the cameras themselves. I also only shoot with prime lenses. They work wonders in low light, and the quality and color rendition are incredible. Lately, Sigma has been killing it with their Art series line and I have been switching out some of my Canon L lenses for them.

  • Sigma 24mm f1.4 Art
  • Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art
  • Sigma 50mm f1.4 Art
  • Sigma 85mm f1.4
  • Canon 135mm f2 L

 My Lighting Equipment

Lighting can make or break an image, and like lenses, lighting is another aspect of photography that is more important than the camera body you're using. I use a combination of natural light and artificial light.
